Social Responsibility
Social responsibility is an important
part of Black Hills Corporation. We
embrace it wholeheartedly by being good
environmental stewards, by giving to
worthwhile philanthropic projects, by taking
leadership roles in community organizations and
by encouraging our employees to volunteer.
From organizing a blood drive or coaching a
youth sports team to raising funds or serving on
a nonprofit board, our employees help out when
they’re called upon, wherever they live.
Black Hills Corporation employees are leadership
givers to their local United Ways and volunteer
for United Way’s Day of Caring. Overall, our
employees almost 24,000 hours in service to our
communities each year.
Black Hills Corporation, Black Hills Power
and Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power are leading
contributors to Energy Share programs to help
our customers who have difficulty paying their
utility bills.
Commitment
We sponsor a number
of events, not only to
increase our visibility
but also to make the
events possible and
increase the quality of
life for the people of
the area.
Through leadership
giving, we help initiate
and support projects
that may otherwise not
be possible.
Black Hills
Corporation is
committed to
improving the
quality of life in the
communities it serves.
Through corporate
contributions and
employee contributions
and volunteerism, the
Company assumes
a leadership role in
community-building.
A donations
committee has been
established to review
requests, which may
be submitted at any
time of year. The Black
Hills Corporation
Foundation makes
grants quarterly.
